PRIVATE ANIMAL SHELTER IN HARBUTOWICE
Animal Shelter in Harbutowice was founded in the Autumn 1999 and was intended to be the last chance for old, crippled and abandoned animals.
Two-floored detached house surrounded by a garden of 3000 square meters and situated in a spot near Myl¶lenice was entirely designed by Mrs. Bożena Chechlińska for a shelter for homeless dogs and cats.
Now there are over 100 dogs and more than a dozen cats.
The Shelter is looked after by two sisters: Mrs Bożena Chechlińska, who designed her house for an animal rescue center, lives permanently in Harbutowice and takes care of over 100 dogs and several cats out there.
Her sister Małgorzata Dobrzańska and her husband, who live in Cracow, are engaged in transporting food, medicines and gifts as well as in taking the animals to the vet. Injured or ill animals are nursed back to health in their flat. There, on the third floor (without a lift), puppies find their home while waiting for adoption. It is also a nursing home for dogs after surgery.
The Shelter has NO subsidies. It lives on private money from both sisters and donations made by generous and open-hearted people. We lack money for everything: dogs' medical treatment (we need to pay for visits to the vet's), electricity, fuel.
You can make a donation sending your money to the following account:
